Santa Clara, Calif. -- Rio Design Automation, a Santa Clara-based start-
up making electronic design automation software tools, said on Monday
that it has raised a total of $5.25 million in two rounds of financing from
Cadence Design Systems, Magma Design Automation and several angel
investors. The company said that it plans to launch its core software in

chip layout, wires within the package and printed circuit board
