Menlo Park, Calif. -- Peerflix, a Menlo Park-based peer-to-peer service
that allows members to legally trade DVDs, said that it has raised a new
round of venture capital funding led by Battery Ventures. The round,
reported by VentureWire to be worth $8 million, also included
investments from 3i and BV Capital. The company said that it will use
the proceeds to develop new product offerings and grow its infrastructure.
Peerflix announced general availability of its DVD trading service in
September, following a year-long beta test. The service currently offers
more than 100,000 DVDs.
