Mountain View, Calif. -- Trusted Data, a Mountain View-based
developer of storage products for the non-technical computer user, said
that it has raised $6 million in its first round of venture capital financing,
from Greylock Partners and RRE Ventures. The company said that it
plans to use the funds to advance its product development efforts. Trusted
Data caters to small businesses and the networked home users looking for
storage technologies less complex than most of those currently being
marketed. Company founder Geoff Barrall also previously founded
companies such as BlueArc, and currently serves as an executive
consultant for Brocade Communications Systems.
