Cupertino, Calif. -- British dot-com entrepreneur Ben Cohen has abandoned his
protracted attempt to regain the iTunes.co.uk domain name he registered before
Cupertino-based Apple, the U.K.'s Register reported. The dispute began in 2000
when Cohen registered the domain name 10 days after Apple applied for a
trademark for the name "iTunes" on Oct. 27, 2000. A judge dismissed the case
after noting that Cohen's company, Cyberbritain Group, could have used the
appeals process that forms part of the DRS, but failed to do so. Cyberbritain
initially sought a further hearing, but has since withdrawn the request and
dropped the case altogether.
