New York -- Following an active year in 2004, venture capital investing sustained
the momentum in 2005 in the U.S., Europe and Israel, according to year-end
analysis by Ernst & Young and Dow Jones VentureOne. According to the report,
fund raising by venture-capital firms reached its highest level since 2001, while
mergers and acquisitions and initial public offerings (IPOs) by venture-backed
companies also showed continued strength. Though investments in venture-
backed companies remained about the same as a year ago, the firms said that there
was a stronger trend toward later-stage financings, suggesting that investors are "
confident in the prospects of their portfolio companies and optimistic in regard to
exit opportunities."

Hugo - San Francisco, full of color and contrast. A place frzoen in the past. That city seems to refuse the modern world. Who better to catch that than you and your camera. The trolley cart pic is the best of all. Keep shooting .
