San Jose, Calif. -- Cisco Systems, the San Jose-based maker of networking
equipment, said on Monday that it has acquired intellectual property and other
assets from Toronto-based Digital Fairway for $15.25 million in cash. Under the
deal, Cisco purchased the company's Internet telephony product and licensed
other software assets. Cisco said that they will form the foundation for its new
Internet communications provisioning product, to be released in 2006. Selected
members of Digital Fairway's software development team will become Cisco
employees in its Network Management Technology Group.
