CA to Acquire Brisbane-Based Wily Technology for $375 Million
Brisbane, Calif. -- Computer Associates, the New York-based IT
management software giant, said that it plans to acquire Brisbane-based
Wily Technology, a developer of application management software, for
$375 million in cash. The deal, which is subject to regulatory approval, is
expected to close within three months. Wily would operate as a division
within CA's Enterprise Systems Management business unit. CA expects
to retain most of Wily's more than 260 employees, including CEO Dick
Williams, who would lead the division. Wily's software monitors billions
of web transactions a day, and is installed at more than 450 commercial
and government organizations worldwide. CA expects Wily to contribute
approximately $72 million in revenue during fiscal 2007.
