Redwood City, Calif. -- Informatica, a Redwood City-based developer of data integration software, said that that it has acquired Irish data-quality software firm Similarity Systems for $55 million in cash. The company said that it plans to incorporate Similarity's data quality technology into its own data integration software. Under the terms of the deal, Similarity CEO Garry Moroney will manage Informatica's new data-quality division.
