Redwood Shores, Calif. -- StrongMail, a Redwood Shores-based developer of email infrastructure software, said on Monday that it has raised $9.5 million in its second round of funding, led by Palo Alto's Globespan Capital Partners. Previous investors Sequoia Capital and Evercore Ventures also participated. The company said that it will use the funds to expand its operations in response to growing customer demand for its products. Last quarter, StrongMail said that its client list grew by 51%, with new customers like Citrix Online, BrassRing and HouseValues coming on board. The company's software is designed to help clients use email in increasingly complex ways to improve their businesses.
