Cupertino, Calif. -- MySQL, a Cupertino-based developer of open-source database software, said on Monday that it has raised $18.5 million in its third round of funding, led by Menlo Park-based Institutional Venture Partners (IVP). Other investors in the round included Intel Capital, Red Hat; SAP Ventures and Presidio STX. MySQL said that it will use the proceeds to fund continued growth into the corporate database market, including new product development and the expansion of its business development, sales and marketing activities. The company now has landed a total of $39 million in funding since its inception.
