Hayward-Based Acologix Adds $4.5 Million to Third Round

Hayward, Calif. -- Acologix, a Hayward-based biopharmaceutical company, said that it has added about $4.5 million in the second closing of its third round of funding. The round, which the company initially closed in December, now stands at $30 million. Acologix plans to use the majority of the funding for late-stage clinical development of its drug candidate for the treatment of uremic pruritus in dialysis patients. The company  has raised approximately $77 million to date through three rounds of financing.
