Santa Clara, Calif. -- Protegrity, a Connecticut-based maker of data security management tools, said on Thursday that it has acquired Santa Clara-based data security firm OmniSecure for an undisclosed sum. Protegrity said that all 20 of OmniSecure's employees will remain with the company, working from their current offices in Sanmta Clara and China. Protegrity will now have more than 90 employees and 300 clients worldwide. Founded in 2000, OmniSecure has developed file-level encryption technologies designed to protect sensitive data in files, such as images, applications and databases. The acquisition comes seven months after Protegrity acquired application security vendor Kavado.
