Milpitas-Based Rackable Names New President, CFO

Milpitas, Calif. -- Rackable Systems, a Milpitas-based maker of servers and storage products for large-scale data centers, on Thursday promoted Todd Ford to the role of president, following three years as the company's CFO. The company also promoted Madhu Ranganathan, its vice president of finance, to CFO. Tom Barton, Rackable's CEO, said that allowing Ford to oversee the company's day-to-day operations will allow him to  "focus on sales and marketing, product development activities, long term strategy and external communications." The news came on a day when Rackable reported 177% jump in sales from a year ago, with the company soundly beating analyst expectations for both revenue and earnings.
