San Francisco -- Kontera, a San Francisco-based developer of contextual advertising technology, said that it has raised an undisclosed amount of first-round financing from Menlo Park-based Sequoia Capital. Kontera said that it will use the funds to accelerate product development and expand its sales and marketing efforts. The company's technology is designed to find contextually relevant keywords on a publisher's web pages, and automatically matches them to relevant ads presented as sponsored keyword links.
