Mountain View, Calif. -- For the ninth straight month, Mountain View-based Google gained in search market share in April, maintaining its status as market leader with 43% of all U.S. searches conducted on its sites, according to new figures from Internet research firm comScore Networks. Yahoo remained in second place with 28% and MSN ranked third with 13%. All told, Americans conducted 6.6 billion searches online in April, up 4% from the previous month.
