Portland, Ore. -- Compiere, an Oregon-based developer of open source business applications, said on Tuesday that it has raised $6 million in its first round of funding, and plans to move its headquarters to an unspecified location in Silicon Valley this summer. The funding, from New Enterprise Associates, marks the first outside investment for the company, which was initially funded by its founders in 1999.Compiere also plans to use a portion of the funds to build out a worldwide infrastructure in order to better support its partner network. The company is eyeing a move to the Bay Area in July or August, but hasn't yet signed a lease.
