San Mateo, Calif. -- NBC said that it will promote its fall television line-up on the video-sharing site of San Mateo-based YouTube, which attracted 20 million users during the month of May. Under the deal, NBC will create an official NBC Channel on YouTube, featuring exclusive promo clips for the upcoming seasons of shows like "The Office," in addition to long-form promos each week for shows like "The Tonight Show" and "Saturday Night Live." In return, YouTube will receive significant on-air promotion on NBC. The companies will also launch a contest where viewers of "The Office" can create and submit their own 20-second promo videos and post them on YouTube. NBC clashed with YouTube several months ago over the site's then-lax control over the posting of copyrighted content, when several clips from "Saturday Night Live" posted on YouTube drew millions of viewers and considerable attention to the site.
