Santa Clara, Calif. -- Intel, the Santa Clara-based chip-making giant on Thursday announced a series of senior management changes that the company said are designed to improve its structure and speed decision making. Sean Maloney, an executive vice president who previously co-managed Intel's Mobility Group, will now lead its Sales and Marking Group. Donald MacDonald, who previously served as the vice president and general manager of the company's Digital Home Group, will become vice president of marketing and brands, reporting to Maloney. In addition, Anand Chandrasekher, a senior vice president who formerly served as co-general manager of the Sales and Marketing Group, will manage a newly created business unit focused on low power Intel Architecture products and the ultra-mobile PC market. Eric Kim, a senior vice president, who previously co-managed the Sales and Marketing Group, will become general manager of the Digital Home Group. Two other long-time Intel executives also have announced their retirements. William Siu, who served as the vice president and general manager of the Channel Platforms Group, and Richard Wirt, the vice president, senior fellow and co-general manager of the Software and Solutions Group, will both remain full time with Intel through the end of the year
