Palo Alto, Calif. -- Microsoft said that it has signed a multi-year agreement with Palo Alto-based Facebook, the second most-popular social networking site behind MySpace, to provide banner ads and sponsored links to the site's 9 million users. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Google, the market leader in sponsored ads, recently signed a $900 million deal to provide search ads to MySpace's over 100 million users. Microsoft said that it began talks with Facebook only last week, and expects its sponsored ads to appear on the site in early fall.
