San Francisco -- Cyworld, a Korean social networking site launched in 1999 by SK Telecom, said that it has officially launched in the U.S. The company said 92% of Koreans aged 24-29 are Cyworld members, while its Chinese site has signed 1.8 million members in six months. San Francisco-based Cyworld USA said that it hopes to appeal to 16-to-24-year-olds. "We consider our localization efforts to be on-going, and putting the Cyworld service into the hands of U.S. consumers is key to our bottom-up product development philosophy," said Yoo Hyun-oh, the president of parent SK Communications.
