Foster City, Calif. -- EFI, a Foster City-based maker of digital controllers, superwide format inkjet printers and inks, said on Wednesday that it has agreed to acquire Michigan-based Jetrion for about $40 million in cash. Jetrion, a unit of Flint Group, is a developer of inkjet printers, inks and custom printing systems for the label and packaging industries. The company has approximately 50 employees. Guy Gecht, the CEO of EFI, said that the acquisition will help the company to expand its presence in the industrial inkjet market. The deal is expected to close by year's end.
