Fremont, Calif. - Logitech, the Swiss manufacturer of computer peripherals with U.S. headquarters in Fremont, said that it has acquired Slim Devices, a Mountain View-based maker of Internet radios and home networking technology, for $20 million in cash. Founded in 2001, Slim Devices has developed products including the Squeezebox, a standalone radio that streams Internet radio stations over a broadband connection, and the Transporter, a home audio networking device. Logitech manufactures webcams, mice, keyboards, gaming controllers and audio peripherals like PC and MP3 player speakers and audio home networking devices.
