Menlo Park, Calif. -- TA Associates, a Boston-based private equity firm with West Coast offices in Menlo Park, said that it has acquired eDreams, a Spain-based provider of online travel services, for about $194 million. eDreams' management participated in the deal, a leveraged buyout in which the company was acquired from Doll Capital Management, Apax Partners, Atlas Ventures and 3i Group. "Currently, 15% of travel bookings are made online in the Southern European market. This figure is expected to reach more than 30% by 2009," TA said in a press release announcing the acquisition.
