Cupertino, Calif. -- Symantec, the California-based provider of IT security products, said that it has acquired Revivio, a Massachusetts-based provider of continuous data protection technology, for a reported $20 million. Symantec plans to integrate Revivio's technology into its "NetBackup" product next year. Charles River Ventures, Flagship Ventures, Bessemer Venture Partners, The Nomura Group and Globespan Capital Partners are among the investors that have backed Revivio with an estimated $55 million since the company's founding in 2001. The company employs about 55 people.
