Cupertino, Calif. -- Cupertino-based Apple has confirmed a release date of June 29 for its highly-anticipated iPhone, according to new TV ads for the combination iPod and mobile phone device that debuted on Sunday. The iPhone is scheduled to retail for $500 (4GB) and $600 (8GB) from both online and physical stores operated by Apple and AT&T/Cingular. Apple ended months of speculation in January by introducing its iPhone, a handheld device that combines a mobile phone, widescreen video iPod and Internet access tool.
