Mountain View, Calif. -- Mountain View-based Google said that it has acquired Chicago-based FeedBurner, a provider of RSS feed distribution and management tools, for an undisclosed sum. FeedBurner manages RSS feeds, which allow publishers such as web site operators, bloggers and podcasters to automatically publish new content over the Internet to subscribers. The company currently serves more than 430,000 RSS feeds, which Google is expected to integrate into its AdSense network.
