Redwood City's Shutterfly Acquires Customized Children's Book Firm

Redwood City, Calif. -- Shutterfly, the Redwood City-based photo sharing site, said on Wednesday that it has acquired Make it About Me, a publishing company that produces customized children's books including My Adventure on Sesame Street and My Amazing Alphabet Adventures. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Shutterfly said that the acquisition, its first this year, will allow it to offer services in which parents can integrate their children's photos into a book's illustrations and storyline. The service will allow parents to create personalized and professionally-bound hardcover books featuring their kids. The company already licenses content and themed characters from Thomas and Friends, Clifford the Big Red Dog and Angelina Ballerina, and now will add Sesame Street to that list.
