Cupertino, Calif. -- Cupertino-based Apple said that wireless carrier O2, a unit of Spain's Telefonica, will be the exclusive U.K. carrier of the iPhone when it launches there on Nov. 9. In addition, the company said that the iPhone will be available exclusively from retailer Carphone Warehouse's web site and retail locations, as well as O2 stores and its own retail and online stores. Only the 8GB model will be offered in the U.K., where it will cost about $540. Customers will have to sign up for an 18-month contract with O2, with monthly charges ranging from about $70-$110. Apple did not announce other European iPhone partners, although the company is expected to partner with T-Mobile in Germany and Orange in France.
