Menlo Park, Calif. -- Shasta Ventures, a Menlo Park-based venture capital firm investing in early-stage technology companies, said on Wednesday that it has raised $250 million for its second fund. The new fund, known as Shasta Ventures II, follows on the heels of the firm's initial $210 million fund, which has made 22 investments since debuting in early 2005. Shasta focuses on consumer and business Internet services, mobile and wireless and software and infrastructure, and has a portfolio that includes Arch Rock, Eye-Fi, SayNow, Mint, Lithium and Turn.
