Palo Alto, Calif. -- Fatdoor, the Palo Alto-based developer of a neighborhood community platform that will launch publicly in the spring of 2008, said on Wednesday that it has raised $5.5 million in its first round of funding and hired Yahoo veteran Jennifer Dulski as its CEO. Norwest Venture Partners (NVP) led the round, which also included participation from KeyNote Ventures. Fatdoor said that it will use the proceeds to expand its market presence and infrastructure. Dulski has held a variety of roles at Yahoo during the past nine years, including group vice president and general manager of local markets and commerce; vice president and general manager of Yahoo Autos and vice president of business unit marketing. Fatdoor began testing its service through an alpha site open in Silicon Valley earlier this year.
