Fremont, Calif. -- U4EA Technologies, a Fremont-based developer of technology for converged communications, said on Tuesday that it has acquired Mountain View-based NextHop Technologies, a supplier of wireless 802.11 software. Financial terms of the deal, which calls for NextHop to change its name to U4EA Wireless, were not disclosed. PG Menon, Nexthop's vice president of marketing, will become the unit's vice president and general manager. NextHop's products includes Wi-Fi controllers and access point software. U4EA said that the acquisition will expand its portfolio of communications products aimed at the small and medium-sized business markets.
