Pleasanton, Calif. -- Welocalize, a Maryland-based provider of services that help clients localize content and software for international markets, said that it has acquired Pleasanton-based counterpart Transware for an undisclosed sum. Founded in 1996, Transware specializes in the translation and localization of media-rich content such as web sites and e-learning applications. The company, which also has operations in Ireland, boasts a client list that includes Cisco, Dell, Guidant, Raytheon and Harvard Business School Publishing. Smith Yewell, the CEO of Welocalize, said that his company plans to make a "significant investment" to expand the capabilities of Transware's translation process automation technology.
