Santa Clara, Calif. -- Macrovision Solutions, the Santa Clara-based provider of anti-piracy technology and informational databases, said on Friday that it has acquired certain web site and technology assets from Virginia-based ThoughtWorthy Media for an undisclosed sum. The deal had been originated in January by Gemstar-TV Guide, which Macrovision recently acquired for $2.3 billion. ThoughtWorthy's technology allows TV viewers to identify, research and purchase online the music, products and advertising they view on television. Macrovision said that it plans to make use of the data across its platforms, including online and mobile.
