Palo Alto, Calif. -- Microsoft has announced a deal that will expand its relationship with Palo Alto-based online social network Facebook, a company in which it invested $240 million last October. Under the deal, Microsoft will provide web search and search advertising for Facebool beginning this fall, The Wall Street Journal reported. Satya Nadella, a senior vice president at Microsoft, disclosed the partnership during a meeting with financial analysts at the company's headquarters, but did not provide further details. Microsoft already has a deal in place to provide search ads on Facebook sites outside of the U.S.
