Sunnyvale, Calif. -- Juniper Networks, the Sunnyvale-based maker of networking equipment, on Thursday named Microsoft veteran Kevin Johnson as its new CEO. Effective September, he will replace Scott Kriens, who will remain chairman. Johnson previously spent 16 years at Microsoft, most recently as president of its Platforms and Services Division. The move comes less than a year after Juniper COO Stephen Elop left the company to become the president of Microsoft's software business division.
