Palo Alto, Calif. -- Looking to expand its wireless technology offerings, Palo Alto-based Hewlett-Packard (HP) said on Monday that it will acquire Massachusetts-based Colubris Networks, a maker of intelligent wireless networking products for large clients and service providers. Financial terms of the deal, expected to close by the end of October, were not disclosed. HP said that it will integrate Colubris' product line into its ProCurve Networking product portfolio, expanding ProCurve's reach into markets such as hospitality, transportation, healthcare and education. Marius Haas, the senior vice president and general manager of HP ProCurve, said that the acquisition will strengthen the hardware, management platform and services offered by the division, "significantly improving the overall performance capabilities of both wired and wireless networks."
