San Francisco -- TokBox, the San Francisco-based developer of a service that allows users to make web-based video calls for free, said on Thursday that it has raised $10 million in its second round of funding, led by Bain Capital Ventures. Sequoia Capital, which led the company's $4 million first round in October, also participated. TokBox said that it will use the proceeds to build out its executive team and drive continued expansion of the company's user base, both in the U.S. and worldwide. Since launching last fall, TokBox has added several new features, including integrating its video capabilities into Facebook chat and offering a downloadable version of the application. The company also recently announced the appointment of technology veteran Nick Triantos as its CEO.
