San Jose, Calif. -- Secure Computing, a San Jose-based developer of gateway security technology designed to help users protect their web, email and network assets, said on Thursday that it will pay $15 million to acquire Cupertino-based Securify, a maker of identity-based monitoring appliances. The value of the deal, expected to close by the end of this year, could raise by as much as $5 million, depending on the future performance of Securify. Securify makes appliances that monitor and control user access to applications within networks. "In the near future, the combination of our products will facilitate a seamless workflow where out-of-policy behavior can be analyzed, reported and, in combination with Secure Firewall, automatically mitigated," said Dan Ryan, the president and CEO of Secure Computing.
