San Mateo, Calif. -- Zvents, the San Mateo-based developer of a local search engine and paid listings ad network, said on Tuesday that it has raised $24 million in a new round of funding. New investors Nokia Growth Partners, NAVTEQ and AT&T joined previous investors Vantage Point Venture Partners and Red Rock Ventures in the round, which the three-year-old company will use to expand the reach of its local listings ad network. The network is designed to let local businesses and national chains promote their locations with search-targeted events such as sales and weekly specials. Zvents, which was founded in 2005 by CEO Ethan Stock, also said that plans to expand its local search platform, which includes more than 250 media partners such as Viacom's mtvU, Microsoft's MSN CityGuides and AT&T's Yellowpages.com.
