Sunnyvale, Calif. -- Yahoo and NBC Universal's Spanish-language network, Telemundo, have agreed to terminate their joint venture web site by year's end, Mediaweek reported. "After three successful years building Telemundo's digital identity with Yahoo and evangelizing digital media, we are ready for the next step," Peter Blacker, an executive vice president at Telemundo, told Mediaweek. Sunnyvale-based Yahoo, whose co-branded site had been known as Yahoo Telemundo, plans to rebrand its U.S. Hispanic and Latin-American site as Yahoo en Espanol. Telemundo, meanwhile, has partnered with Microsoft to help power its new standalone site.
