Menlo Park, Calif. -- Droplet Technology, a Menlo Park-based developer of mobile video technology, said on Friday that it has acquired Sipcall, a Menlo Park developer of mobile Voice-over-IP (VoIP) services for consumers. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Christian Rees, Sipcall's founder and president, has joined Droplet as its director of service platforms. Sipcall in April launched "Hipsip," a service that allows users to make VoIP calls worldwide from any mobile phone's web browser, using only their local mobile calling plan.
