Palo Alto, Calif. -- Huffington Post, the popular left-leaning political news site, has raised $25 million in a new round of funding from Palo Alto-based Oak Investment Partners. The company said that it will use the proceeds to upgrade its technology and infrastructure, increase its in-house advertising capabilities and continue expanding its content offerings, including the rollout of local versions of the site in select cities. "[The investment] will allow us to accelerate our growth, with more verticals, more video, more citizen journalism initiatives, more cities for our local editions, and a fund for investigative journalism," said co-founder Arianna Huffington.
