Fremont, Calif. -- Wireless developer Qualcomm has acquired Fremont-based Digital Fountain, a provider of mobile video technology, for an undisclosed sum, according to several online reports. Digital Fountain's customer list includes Cisco, Scientific Atlanta, Pioneer, Sirius XM, Sony and Nokia. "Qualcomm has acquired a team of seven key engineers that will continue to support the technology and existing Digital Fountain customers," the company told StreamingMedia.com. Qualcomm said that the Digital Fountain team, led by founder and CTO Mike Luby, will work out of the company's campus in Santa Clara.
