San Mateo, Calif. -- Appirio, a San Mateo-based provider of web-based software designed to help businesses move to cloud computing, said on Wednesday that it has raised $10 million in its third round of funding from GGV Capital and Sequoia Capital. The company, which previously had raised $5.6 million last July, plans to use the proceeds to bolster product development and marketing, as well as to expand partnerships. "The business case for cloud computing is strong, and we're seeing the pace of investment from investors and customers growing as a result," said Chris Barbin, the CEO of Appirio. Founded in 2006, Appirio currently has partnerships with companies such as Google and salesforce.com, as well as more than 2,500 clients.
