Mountain View, Calif. -- Google officially has announced the launch of a new music-focused search feature, known as "OneBox," which adds audio previews of songs to search results from partners Lala and MySpace's iLike. The feature lets users find songs by searching directly, by artist or title, or typing in a portion of the lyrics. Mountain View-based Google will also include links to digital music services Pandora, imeem and Rhapsody. "This feature doesn't just make search better. It also helps people discover new sources of licensed music online while helping artists to discover new generations of fans and reconnect with longtime listeners," the company said in its blog.
