San Francisco -- Online social network MySpace is in "late stage negotiations" to acquire San Francisco-based music streaming service imeem, TechCrunch reported, citing multiple unnamed sources. Founded in 2003, imeem started as a music-focused social network application, but more recently has concentrated on music streaming. imeem has raised at least $25 million in funding, with its service attracting 16 million unique visitors in September, according to comScore. Should the deal go through, it would mark MySpace's second major streaming music service acquisition of the year, following its deal for iLike three months ago.
