Redwood Shores, Calif. -- Oracle, the Redwood Shores-based maker of back-office business software, said on Monday that it will acquire AmberPoint, an Oakland-based maker of service-oriented architecture (SOA) management software. Financial terms of the deal, expected to close by mid-year, were not disclosed. AmberPoint's software is designed to help clients diagnose and fix issues in application performance and business transactions. Oracle said that it will add AmberPoint's products to its Fusion Middleware SOA suite.
