Berkeley, Calif. -- Scientific Conservation Inc. (SCI), a Berkeley-based developer of energy efficiency and system optimization products for the commercial building market, said on Monday that it has raised $5 million in its first round of funding from Draper Fisher Jurvetson. The company also named Russ McMeekin, the former president and CEO of Progressive Gaming International, as its new CEO. He also previously served as the president and CEO of ViaFone. "As a seasoned technology executive who has worked with DFJ for more than a decade in a variety of capacities, we believe Russ will be instrumental in establishing SCI as the leader for building energy management space," said Raj Atluru, the managing director of DFJ.
