Santa Clara, Calif. -- OmniVision Technologies, a Santa Clara-based developer of digital imaging technology used in mobile phones, notebooks, webcams and digital cameras, said on Friday that it has paid $5 million to acquire San Jose-based Aurora Systems, a supplier of chips used in image projection systems. All employees and executives from Aurora will make the transition. "Their engineering talent and their expertise in image projection technologies are very important to our strategic development," said Shaw Hong, the president and CEO of OmniVision.
