San Francisco - Mochi Media, a San Francisco-based publisher of online game, announced on Monday the creation of a $10 million fund for game developers. A joint effort between Mochi and Chinese parent company Shanda Games, the Mochi GAME Developer Fund will support third-party developers through sponsorship, licensing and publishing deals, with initial investments reaching up to $100,000 per game title. "We're putting substantive muscle behind encouraging creativity in Flash and social gaming," said Justin Wong, general manager of the fund and head of business development for Mochi Media. "We are committed to working with developers all around the world." Mochi's own network includes 15,000 games on nearly 40,000 publisher web sites, and counts more than 150 million monthly active users.
